Einstein Medical Center Montgomery has been recognized by The Joint Commission in conjunction with The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, with Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. Earning Primary Stroke Center Certification signifies that Einstein Montgomery has demonstrated that its program meets critical elements of performance to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes for stroke patients.

To earn this designation, Einstein Montgomery underwent a rigorous on-site review by a Joint Commission expert who reviewed the hospital’s compliance with the requirements for The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification program as well as primary stroke center requirements, such as collecting Joint Commission core measurement data and using it for performance improvement activities. The reviewer examined patient records and checked clinical protocols and policies pertaining to how staff care for patients who have a stroke or exhibit stroke-like symptoms. They also interacted with the staff by asking questions that assessed the staff’s knowledge on the clinical protocols and policies for stroke.
