Election Results: Democrats Sweep Norristown School Director Race

Breaking: Democrats have swept the four open seats for Norristown Area School Director.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Democrats have swept the four open seats for Norristown Area School Director, defeating the three Republicans who challenged them.

With 27 of 28 percent of precincts reporting just before 11 p.m., the four Democrats won the seats handily, each gaining about 21 percent of the vote.

Winners include Jamila Winder, Shae Ashe, Turea Hutson, and Matt Rivera.

They defeated Republican challengers Kathleen A. T. Bello, John C. Holland, and 19-year-old John Maxey (who is actually a registered Democrat, but cross-filed). Bello received 4.8 percent, Holland 4.1 percent, and Maxey 5.08 percent.

"Thank you. Our entire team swept by a landslide," Ashe said in a statement Tuesday night.
