Elmwood Zoo Hosting Quiet Evening For Guests With Special Needs
Elmwood Zoo, the world's first Certified Autism Center zoo, is launching a new evening program.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Elmwood Zoo, the world's first Certified Autism Center zoo, is launching a new evening program for guests with special needs.
On three select Thursdays this summer, the zoo will offer a "quiet and relaxed" experience after normal visiting hours. The zoo will remain open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for guests with special needs and their families.
Dates for the program are June 27, July 25, and Aug. 29.

There is also special discounted pricing for non-members, at $10.95. Zoo members (and personal care attendants) can enter free, but must register for the event.
Some of Elmwood's unique features including sensory backpacks with things like a stress ball, noise cancelling headphones, and fidget toys, as well as a designated quiet space facing the bison exhibit.
