Expect Backups On 422 Next Week: Lane Closures Scheduled Near Trooper Road
Motorists should plan for additional backups during certain times.

Traffic on Route 422 will be restricted early next week as crews set concrete bridge beams, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
Daytime restrictions are set beginning Monday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the far right lane of 422 west between Valley Forge Road and Trooper Road.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, 422 eastbound's right lane will also be closed between Valley Forge and 202, officials said.

Then from Tuesday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 422 west's right lane will be shut down between 202 and Valley Forge Road.
The bridge construction is part of a $97.4 million project to improve travel conditions along 422.

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel during the lane shutdowns as backups may occur.
The project is set to finish May 2020.
