Breaking: A fire in Norristown shut down East Airy Street Monday afternoon.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A fire in Norristown shut down East Airy Street Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident occurred at around 2:34 p.m. on the 200 block of East Airy, near the intersection with Dekalb Street and just a block from Montgomery County Courthouse.

It's not yet clear what caused the fire or if there are any injuries.

Motorists and residents are advised to avoid the area, the municipality said.

It marks the fifth building fire in Norristown in the last two weeks, Norristown Fire Department said.
