Firefighter 'Constantly Improving' After Norristown Stabbing

The Plymouth firefighter who was attacked outside his Norristown home is "constantly improving," friends say.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The Plymouth firefighter who was attacked outside his Norristown home is "constantly improving," friends say.

Police said that Zac Santiago was confronting "juvenile drug users" in an abandoned area near the 600 block of George Street last Friday when the incident occurred.

He suffered from multiple stab wounds in the attack, and was flown immediately to Jefferson University Hospital for surgery, according to the Plymouth Community Ambulance Association.

He's since undergone two successful surgeries. Friends with Plymouth Ambulance gave an update on Tuesday afternoon.

"For all of those concerned with Zac’s situation, we are happy to report that he is constantly improving and is returning home tomorrow.
