Longtime Norristown football coach Roger Grove is reportedly facing a tough battle with cancer.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Longtime Norristown football coach Roger Grove is reportedly facing a tough battle with cancer.

The Times Herald reports that he is not doing well, even though he has recently returned home from Phoenixville Hospital.

Doctors provided Grove with a dire prognosis when they saw his skin cancer grow progressively worse in late 2015.

Friends, fans, former players, and countless others have posted messages on social media and sent notes and well-wishes to Grove, according to the report.

Grove led Norristown to a dominating 209-98-6 record through 27 seasons, from 1976 through 2003. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania State Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2002.
