Four Norristown Deadbeat Parents Among 10 Arrested; Owed More Than $121,000

NORRISTOWN, PA --Ten male parents were arrested on April 13 during an overnight sweep of parents, who failed to pay child support or show up for domestic relations hearings, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office

The parents collectively owed $121,091.52 in child support arrearages for 14 children.

A relative of one of the defendants followed the raid team in his truck during part of the night. He was stopped and questioned by sheriff’s deputies and an Upper Merion Police Department officer before being released, the Sheriff's office said.

Another defendant resisted arrest, but was taken into custody without incident.

“I can’t emphasize how dangerous this job is,” Sheriff Kilkenny said in a statement. “I appreciate everything that our deputies do, to help kids get the money they need from their parents.”

The following defendants are in custody, and are awaiting a hearing:

• Rickey Albertson of 193 Olbertholztzer Rd., Gilbertsville, Pa., owes $3,172.48 for two children.
• Russell Badman, Jr. of 502 Main St., Pennsburg, Pa., owes $22,988.91 for one child.
• Walter Baltra of 17 Brenda Ln., Norristown, Pa., owes $773.79 for one child.
• Mark Gurbatow of 143 Walnut St., Pottstown, Pa., owes $1,441.62 for one child.
• Leroy Hill of 739 E. Moore St., Norristown, Pa., owes $31,373.30 for two children.
• Christopher Marion of 2403 Hunsberger Dr., Limerick, Pa., owes $8,021.46 for one child.
• Lonnie Quarels of 1023 Dekalb St., Norristown, Pa., owes $31,166.70 for two children.
• Marcus Wright of 365 Beech St., Pottstown, Pa., owes $11,354.97 for one child.
• Joseph Zgura of 915 Swede St., Apt. 3, Norristown, Pa., owes $7,066.96 for one child.
• Stetson Zieglar of 170 Elio Cir., Trappe, Pa., owes $3,731.33 for two children.
