Free Zoo Admission Offered At Norristown COVID-19, Flu Vaccine Clinic

NORRISTOWN, PA — Free admission to the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown will be granted to anyone who receives a vaccine at an upcoming COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinic.

The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gotwals Elementary School.

"With fall in full swing, there are two easy steps that individuals can take to protect themselves and their families against illness — get a flu vaccine and keep up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines," Montgomery County Commissioners said in a statement. "It is important to get your annual flu vaccine and keep up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines since both Flu and COVID-19 spread easily during the winter and can be serious. You can get a flu vaccine at the same time you get a COVID-19 vaccine (including a booster dose)."

Commissioner Val Arkoosh will be on hand will publicly receive her COVID-19 bivalent booster shot, organizers said.

The event is organized by the Montgomery County Immunization Coalition (MCIC) and the Montgomery County Office of Public Health.

No appointment is needed.
