Where/When: ACPPA Community Art Center, 506 Haws Ave., Norristown; May 13, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Why go: Kicking off the celebration with breakfast for dinner, ACPPA will host performances by its smallest ballerinas, actresses, musicians and all-boys hip hop class. The family and friends celebration is a culmination of the end of the students’ hard work during their eight-week sessions.

Price: $4 per person
Where/When: Kitty Cottage, 317 W. Johnson Highway, East Norriton; May 14, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Why go: Kitty Cottage will hold a yard sale to raise money for its kitten and cat shelter. There will be something for everyone!
Price: Free admission
Where/When: Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 W. Main St., Eagleville; May 14, 8 a.m. to noon.
Why go: The Rotary Club of Norristown will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, featuring pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee to raise funds for the group’s community grants programs. Last year, the breakfast helped raise almost $7,500 for local organizations.
Price: $8 for adults, $5 for children
Where/When: Begins at Pavilion Shopping Center, 535 S. Broad St., Lansdale; May 14, 8:45 a.m.
Why go: Inspired by young Alex Rowe, who suffers from severe von Willebrand disease, the Broad Street five-mile Rerun, one-mile family walk and half-mile Kids Run will raise funds to support the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation.
Price: $30 for adults, $15 for children
Where/When: Greater Norristown PAL, 340 Harding Blvd., Norristown; May 14, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Why go: Ground-breaking ceremonies will be held for PAL’s Community Garden. The garden will be built from the ground up, building raised beds, filling them with soil, planting seeds and sprouts, tagging and more.
Price: $10 per person. Local schools and sports teams who wear their colors or uniforms will receive an additional discount, $7.50 per person.
