Here Are The Eagles Playoff Chances After Another Loss Sunday
The Eagles were booed off the field after another disappointing game Sunday. Here's where their playoff chances stand with five games to go.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Eagles suffered another disappointing loss on Sunday, falling to the Seattle Seahawks 17-9, getting booed off the field at half time, and seeing their playoff chances take a hit as they fell to 5-6 on the season.
In falling below .500, the Birds now have just a 33 percent chance to make the playoffs, according to a New York Times probability tool.
Though it was a tough game even in the best of circumstances, as the Seahawks have one of the NFL's best records, it was still widely seen as a winnable contest. The game was distinguished by both missed opportunities and the number of players not available due to injuries, and even with all of that, Birds were still just a touchdown shy of a win.

But time is running out for the Eagles. The good news: their schedule is drastically easier from here on out. They'll go from playing two of the NFL's best teams in the last two weeks — the 10-1 Patriots and the 9-2 Seahawks — to playing one of the worst, the 2-9 Dolphins.
The linchpin game this season, unsurprisingly, is the Week 16 game against the division rival Dallas Cowboys. Winning the division is probably the Eagles only hope of making the playoffs at this point, as there is a crowd of 9-2 and 8-3 NFC teams that would have to fall apart for the Birds to snag a Wild Card spot.

If the Eagles win all of their remaining games, including the Cowboys game, they have better than 99 percent odds of making it into the postseason, according to the simulation tool. If they lose just one game — any game other than the Cowboys game — their odds drop to around 4o or 50 percent, depending on which game they lose. If they lose two games other than the Cowboys game, those odds slip to 16 percent.
Most importantly: a loss to the Cowboys, even if they finish 4-1, also drops their playoff odds to 16 percent.
Three losses would likely eliminate them, obviously, as they'd fall to 7-9.
Though a 5-6 record is obviously not where the Eagles, or their fans, expected to be at this point in the season, it's misleading to not consider the larger picture. Of those six losses, four have been to playoff squads. The losses Eagles fans should really be upset about are the heartbreakers back in Weeks 2 and 3, to Lions and Falcons teams that now both sit in last place in their respective divisions. Losing to the Patriots and Seahawks in close fought contests the past two weeks is more of a coin flip than an indication of some deeper flaw.
This is even more so the case when you look at some of the Eagles regulars who missed Sunday's game due to health issues: Brandon Brooks, Lane Johnson, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, DeSean Jackson, Darren Sproles, and more.
Sunday's game against the Dolphins will be held in Miami and begins at 1 p.m.
