High Winds Lead to Power Outages in Norristown Area

Hundreds were left without power in the Norristown area on Monday after high winds swept through the region.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Powerful wind gusts swept across the region on Monday morning, leading to thousands of power outages in the Montgomery County area.

Norristown was not hit, but nearby Upper Merion, Upper Providence, and Lower Providence all suffered extensive outages.

Upper Merion still had 129 residents without power as of 12:30 p.m. Monday.

PECO estimated that most outages would be repaired by the late afternoon or early evening, according to their outage map.
