'Immeasurable Void': Teen In Fatal Route 422 Chase, Crash Identified
Family and friends are mourning the loss of the 18-year-old driver, who brought "laughter and light to everyone around him."
NORRISTOWN, PA — The teenager who was killed in the Route 422 police chase last weekend has been identified as 18-year-old Zachery Carbo, state police and family confirmed.
Carbo was a resident of Norristown. Services are being planned but details have not yet been announced.
"I’m literally in shock," his mother shared in a public social media post that has received hundreds of interactions. "I have to keep moving forward. I have 5 other kids that need me, my mother, and husband. Your thoughts and prayers are welcome in our time of need."

Friends and family described Carbo as a joyful person.
"Zachary was a sweet, kind, and funny young man who brought laughter and light to everyone around him," family friend Krista Waits wrote in a GoFundMe that has been launched for the family. "He was fun-loving, forgiving, and deeply devoted to his brothers and sisters, whom he loved very much. His caring heart and joyful spirit touched many lives, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew him."

The GoFundMe has raised nearly $1,800 out of a $3,500 goal as of Thursday morning.
Three other teenagers were also injured in the crash, though they have not yet been identified. The investigation into the incident remains underway.

It occurred in the early morning hours Saturday, Feb. 14 on Route 422.
Carbo was driving a Kia eastbound in Limerick Township when state police attempted to pull the vehicle over for traffic violations, state police said.
The vehicle did not pull over, sparking the chase, according to authorities.
The pursuit continued down 422 into Upper Merion Township, where the vehicle crashed into a concrete road barrier, officials said.
Carbo was declared dead at the scene of the crash. The three other passengers, who have only been identified as males, were injured.
