In a statement Tuesday, the borough said that police had secured the property, which has been foreclosed and is now owned by Wells Fargo Bank.
"Per staff discussions with Wells Fargo, they recognize the urgency of the situation with this property, are assigning a case manager to this issue, and have expedited resolution of the situation," Jones added.
A precise timeline for that resolution remains unclear.
