Keebler Road Bridge Reopens In Upper Merion
Keebler Road Bridge carries about 4,600 vehicles a day. The rehabilitation means that the bridge no longer has a weight limit.

The recently rehabilitated Keebler Road Bridge has been reopened in Upper Merion, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.
The bridge Abrams Run is part of PennDOT’s $2.4 million project to rehabilitate five township-owned, structurally deficient bridges across Montgomery County.
Construction began on June 20, 2016 to replace the bridge deck and beams, PennDOT said.

The bridge carried 4,600 vehicles a day and was posted with a 28-ton weight restriction when it was shut down, according to officials. The reopened bridge no longer has a weight limit.
In addition to Keebler Road, PennDOT’s contractor will replace the superstructures on the Trewigtown Road bridge over Neshaminy Creek in Hatfield, and the Remington Road bridge over the west branch of Indian Creek in Lower Merion.

PennDOT said that the rehabilitation of the five bridges is expected to be completed in late 2016.
