KOP Gets $1 Million For First Avenue Pedestrian Expansion
The funding will be used to create a multi-use trail, connecting area development and Moore Park's 20,000 employees.

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Local infrastructure received a boost this week as officials announced a $1 million investment to expand pedestrian infrastructure along First Avenue and Moore Park.
The funding comes from the state as a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant.
The money will be used to create a multi-use trail between North Gulph Road and Allendale Road, creating what organizers are calling a "complete street" on First Avenue.

It's a crucial step in the development of First Avenue Linear Park, a 10-foot-wide, 2.6 mile long path that will connect the 24 parcels and 20,000 employees that work in Moore Park.
State Rep. Tim Briggs (D-Montgomery) pushed hard for the grant's approval.

"The Linear Park will create a public space along First Avenue that, when completed, will be used by workers and residents alike,” Briggs said in an announcement Tuesday. "I am pleased that Governor Wolf and the Commonwealth have made this investment into Moore Park as it continues to grow into an economic engine not just for our community but for all of Pennsylvania."
When complete, the park will include solar pedestrian lighting, seating areas, space for programs, solar bus shelters, rain gardens, and planting beds.
The latest investment brings the total of state and federal funding in the park to more than $4 million.
