Suspect Charged In Norristown Double Homicide

Breaking: A man has been arrested after shooting and killing two men in Norristown Monday morning, police said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A man has been arrested for the slaying of two people in Norristown in the early hours of Monday morning.

Miguel Mino-Rojas, 20, of Norristown, faces two counts of first degree murder and firearms charges for the shooting deaths, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office announced.

The victims have been identified as Isaias Martinez, 53, and Gullimero Rivera-Rubio, 44, authorities said.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. It occurred at around 12:12 a.m. Monday on the 700 block of Chain Street. Rojas told police he met the victims, who were in a car, for a cocaine deal, according to the criminal complaint. When he saw one of them reach into the glove compartment, he fired the fatal shots, according to authorities.

Bail was denied and Rojas was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for March 14.
