"You're not the police," the suspect said at one point, before shouting "this is a battlefield!"

LOWER PROVIDENCE, PA — A man was arrested after threatening a police officer in Lower Providence with a knife last week, according to authorities.

Xavier M. Mack, 27, was wandering around the area of 10 Eagleville Road on Thursday, Feb. 15 when a neighbor called to report a suspicious person, police said.

The cop continued to demand Mack drop the knife, and eventually he began to saunter away, muttering "strange comments" about the police and himself, according to authorities.

Additional officers arrived and followed Mack to a nearby field and established a perimeter around him to ensure he could not escape. After several minutes of speaking with him, they were able to convince him to drop the knife and turn himself in.

Mack has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and related counts. His bail was set at $5,000 and a preliminary hearing has been set for March 6.
