Work, which was set to be completed on April 10, was completed late last week.

E-Z Pass lanes were shut down in both the northbound and southbound directions since March 19.

Workers were improving the overhead electronic tolling equipment, the turnpike said.

E-Z Pass customers were still able to use the traditional E-Z Pass tolls during the closure, but congestion was obviously increased during the work period.

More construction is in Mid-County's future: two phases of pavement repairs on I-476 and and the eastbound and westbound ramps on I-276 are planned. All repairs should be completed by September of 2018, officials said.
