Montco Home Builder Was Negligent In Construction: Attorney General
The PA Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against a company for building homes that were not weather-resistant in East Vincent.

EAST VINCENT TOWNSHIP, PA -- The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office has filed a lawsuit against a Plymouth-based home builder for not building homes that were weather-resistant, despite promises to the contrary.
Attorney General Bruce Beemer said Thursday that The Cutler Group, based on 5 Apollo Road in Plymouth Meeting, did not comply with the recommendations of manufacturers and accepted industry practices when building homes. The resulting "shoddy" work led to severe damage in many homes, Beemer alleged.
"The costs to correct this damage can easily exceed $100,000 per home," Beemer said. "It is extremely important for new home builders to adhere to accepted industry practices, which leaves consumers with the peace of mind that their homes have been properly built. We are pursuing this lawsuit, in part, to protect consumers from this conduct in the future."

It's the second lawsuit connected to misrepresentations made by businesses filed by Beemer, who took office in September after the resignation of the embattled and convicted Kathleen Kane. Earlier in the week, a Beemer announced a $2 million settlement with a nursing home chain that had provided false promises to consumers.
The lawsuit filed against The Cutler Group seeks restitution for consumers, civil penalties, and a permanent injunction. In some cases, the damage caused by Cutler's negligence is up to $120,000, according to the Attorney General's Office.
