Montco Needs 911 Operators: Starting Up To $44K A Year
The county has several openings for one of local government's most crucial functions.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County has announced several job openings for new telecommunicators at their 911 call center.
The positions are located at the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety in Eagleville.
Telecommunicators require only a high school diploma, along with "excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills," a Pennsylvania driver's license, and typing ability, according to the job announcement.

Communicators "receive calls for assistance from the public and dispatch police, fire, emergency medical units, and other public safety resources," the county explained.
The starting salaries for the positions range between $38,610 and $44,401.

In addition, officials said the positions are eligible for a sign-on bonus of 10 percent of the annual starting salary.
