TRAPPE, PA — Montgomery County officials will hold a ceremony to honor the fallen state trooper and native son killed in the line of duty last year.

A portion of Main Street in Trappe, also known as State Route 4031, will be dedicated as Trooper Branden T. Sisca Memorial Highway. The dedicated stretch is between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue.

"We’ve chosen to rename the section of Main Street after him because it would be close to the Trappe Fire Company where he volunteered for close to half of his life, and this designation would serve as a reminder of his selfless service and sacrifice," State Rep. Joe Ciresi said.

Sisca, 29, a native of Trappe, had served as Trappe Fire Chief.

Sisca and Trooper Martin Mack III were killed just over a year ago. The pair had stopped to help an Allentown man on the night of March 21, 2022, who was walking along Interstate I-95 near Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Jayna Webb, 21, of Eagleville, attempted to pass the vehicle at a high speed and hit and killed all three, police said.

“The death of State Trooper Branden T. Sisca was a terrible loss for the Trappe community and the commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” Ciresi added. “As both a volunteer firefighter and a state trooper, Trooper Sisca dedicated his life to protecting Pennsylvanians, some he had known all his life, others strangers. To both, his commitment was total."

The dedication ceremony will be held on Friday in front of Michelle’s Jewelry Studio at 435 W. Main Street. A memorial sign will be unveiled at that location.

Webb is facing third-degree murder and related charges.
