Montco Woman Who Burned Cop's Home Gets 10 To 20 Years In Jail

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Donna Krupp, the woman who burned a cop's home to the ground in Lower Pottsgrove in 2014, has been sentenced to prison.

She will spend the next 10 to 20 years in jail, according to reports from the Times Herald.

Krupp, 52, was found guilty in November of burning down the home of Christine Morris, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office said. The fire destroyed the home and killed the Morris’ cat.

During the trial last Tuesday, Morris said that Krupp blamed Morris’ husband, Ernie Morris, a Limerick detective, for her son’s legal troubles, according to 6 ABC.

She reportedly added that Krupp had begun to “spiral out of control” in the weeks leading up to the incident.

“I’m very happy for my family and I can’t thank everybody enough for all the hard work they put into getting us here today. I’m extremely happy, but I’m also sad there’s another family that’s going to now be ruined because of this,” Ernie Morris said after the verdict, according to the Pottstown Mercury.

The incident occurred at about 2:25 a.m. on December 4, 2014, the DA’s office said.

The home was “fully engulfed” when firefighters arrived, and the home was completely destroyed.

Video surveillance found during the ensuing investigation showed an individual walking up to the Morris’ artificial Christmas tree and lighting it on fire, the DA said.

Morris’ defense attorney said he thought it was a case of mistake identification, according to the report.
