Montco Work Crews Deployed To Prepare For Coming Winter Storm
Emergency shelters will be open. Montgomery Co. officials are urging local residents to stay off the roads with the latest snow estimates.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Public safety officials in Montgomery County are bracing for the next wave of severe winter weather to hit the region.
A snowstorm is expected to dump between four and six inches of snow across the county starting at around 4 a.m. Friday morning, with the late morning and early afternoon bringing the most intense impacts.
"If possible, please adjust travel plans/stay off the roads to keep them open for emergency vehicles," the county's Department of Public Safety said Thursday.

Road crews have been deployed to prepare the area for the storm, and snow plows will be at the ready overnight as the precipitation arrives.
To help marshal additional needed resources, a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency declaration is in place in the county through next Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 8 a.m.

Temporary shelters are set up around the county for vulnerable individuals experiencing homelessness.
If you need emergency shelter, call the Your Way Home Call Center at 2-1-1. The county has the following recommendations during a Code Blue:
- Check on elderly friends and neighbors frequently to ensure that their homes are adequately heated.
- If you see someone in need of immediate emergency assistance, call or text 9-1-1.
- If you or someone you know needs help with temporary shelter from the cold weather or a longer-term housing issue, call Your Way Home at 2-1-1 or text 898-211.
