46 People Injured in SEPTA Trolley Crash In Philadelphia
Breaking: 46 people were injured when two SEPTA trolleys crashed in west Philadelphia Wednesday.

Two trolleys crashed in west Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, leaving 46 people injured, SEPTA officials confirmed.
The incident took place at about 1:30 p.m. when a trolley carrying passengers rear-ended another trolley near 38th Street and Lancaster Avenue, according to SEPTA.

Officials said that the injuries were not life threatening. Two of the injured individuals were SEPTA trolley operators, and 44 were passengers.

Officials said buses took the passengers and operators to local hospitals for treatment.
SEPTA service between 36th and Market and 38th and Lancaster has been shut down until further notice, but officials said trolleys are working to get back into circulation.

The two trolleys involved in the accident have been taken out of service.
SEPTA officials said the trolleys operate roughly 10 minutes apart and travel at slow speeds. SEPTA and Philadelphia Police are investigating the accident to determine the cause.
