Northbound I-476 will be down to one lane early Tuesday and Wednesday.
Acording to a release issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, drivers on Interstate 476 in Montgomery County will face late-night lane restrictions in both directions this week, April 3 to 8.
There will also be double lane closures northbound Monday and Tuesday for road and bridge construction between the Interstate 76 (Exit 16) and Germantown Pike (Exit 20) interchanges.
I-476’s northbound “express lane” will be closed Tuesday, April 5, through Friday, April 8, from midnight to 5 a.m.

Brief traffic stoppages also may occur Tuesday and Wednesday from midnight to 5 a.m. on northbound I-476 and on the ramps from I-76 to I-476 North as crews change the traffic pattern at the I-476/I-76 Interchange.
Drivers on southbound I-476 also will find single lane closures through Thursday, April 7, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. between the Ridge Pike (Exit 18) and I-76 (Exit 16) interchanges.
The contractor’s schedule is contingent on the weather, and overnight lane closures and traffic stoppages will be postponed until the following night in the event of rain.
These operations are part of PennDOT’s $71.7 million project to rebuild the 3.2 miles of I-476 between the I-76 (Exit 16) and Germantown Pike (Exit 20) interchanges in Montgomery County.
Commuters are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work area and reminded to slow to the posted 45 miles per hour speed limit and remain alert for shifting traffic patterns in the work zone.
Allan A. Myers, LP, of Worcester, is the general contractor on the $71,728,383 contract that is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
