Naked Man Hit By Cop Car 'Deeply Concerning,' Norristown Council Says
"We are deeply concerned by the video and reports regarding the ... incident involving a member of the Norristown Police Department."
NORRSITOWN, PA — A day after a Norristown Police vehicle was captured on video striking a man who was standing naked in the middle of an intersection, the municipal council has issued a statement.
"We are deeply concerned by the video and reports regarding the Feb. 4, 2026 incident involving a member of the Norristown Police Department," the statement said.
Authorities said the man was naked and obstructing traffic at a signalized intersection around Stanbridge and West Airy streets in Norristown Wednesday morning.

The man was standing in the road after vandalizing a parked vehicle, striking passing vehicles, and creating a dangerous situation for motorists, pedestrians, and himself, authorities said.
As officers were arriving to the area, one of the police vehicles struck the man, knocking him down, officials said. This was captured on video and shared on social media.

Video of the incident shows the man being sent airborne when he was struck by the vehicle, being thrown several feet before hitting the ground.
"The situation shown is troubling and does not reflect the standards of professionalism and care our community expects from those entrusted with public safety," the statement issued. "An independent investigation is being conducted by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau. It is important that this process proceed thoroughly and without interference so that all facts can be determined."
The striking officer has been placed on administrative leave.
