New 'Neighborhood Hospital' To Open In Montgomery County
Lehigh Valley Health Network announced this week they'd started construction on a massive new 22,000 square foot facility.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Healthcare options will grow in southeastern Pennsylvania, as the Lehigh Valley Health Network announced Thursday that they will build a new hospital in Montgomery County.
Construction has begun and is slated for completion in fall 2024 on the Gilbertsville site, which will hold an emergency room, inpatient care, and a medical office building.
“LVH–Gilbertsville and the Health Center at Gilbertsville will give residents more convenient access to emergency and hospital-level care, along with robust ambulatory services located closer to where they live, work and play," Brian A. Nester, the president and chief executive officer of Lehigh Valley Health Network, said in a statement. "Easy access can improve patient engagement and help individuals live their healthiest life.”

The 22,000 square foot facility will be located on the intersection of Route 100 and Grosser Road, near a Wawa and a gas station.
Officials call the facility a "neighborhood hospital," as it will focus on its full service emergency room. The inpatient beds will be limited, and its overall size is smaller than Lehigh Valley Health Network's other area hospitals in Cedar Crest and Muhlenberg.
