The Eagles Are Back Sunday: What To Know About Upcoming Season
The Eagles are set to begin what promises to be a unique 2020 NFL season on Sept. 13 in Washington. Here's what their schedule looks like.

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Professional football returns after the Labor Day weekend, with all 32 National Football League teams kicking off play the week of Sept. 10-13.
The Eagles will play their season opener on Sept. 13 against the Washington Football Team. The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will officially kick off the NFL season on Thursday, Sept. 10 at home against the Houston Texans.
Other highlights of the Eagles schedule include a Week 4 battle against the reigning NFC champion San Francisco 49ers, Thursday Night Football against the New York Giants on Oct. 22, and a chance at revenge against the Seattle Seahawks, who eliminated them from the playoffs last season, in Week 12. Fans will not be allowed at Lincoln Financial Field to begin the season, but other teams are allowing small crowds. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said recently that he is optimistic the team will eventually be able to host fans at some point soon, likely not until October at the earliest.
The Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins are among the teams planning to allow a small capacity of fans at home openers, according to ESPN.

Besides crowds, there will likely be other significant changes to football in 2020, as quarantines and positive tests could force teams to get very creative with how they utilize available players.
Specifically, players may be playing out of position, and teams will almost assuredly have their depth tested.
"We've embraced the unpredictability of it," Lurie said, saying he liked the positional flexibility on the Birds roster this year. "We know in any given game, we might only have one quarterback available, or a wide receiver might play tight end."
Around the rest of the NFL, eyes will be on six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady as he takes his first snaps as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after 20 seasons with the New England Patriots. The Patriots, and their own six-time Super Bowl winning head coach Bill Belichick, seek to add to their record of 11 consecutive division championships without Brady.
Opening week will feature four prime-time games, including the Texans-Chiefs. The Dallas Cowboys will visit the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, Sept. 13 and the first Monday night of the season will have two games scheduled: the Pittsburgh Steelers at the New York Giants and the Tennessee Titans at the Denver Broncos.
Teams are still set to play a full set of 16 games in 2020, with an additional playoff game in both the National Football Conference and American Football Conference, added to the schedule. The move to add a seventh playoff team in each conference, and by effect another game, was approved by the league before the pandemic.
