Norristown Church Named Montgomery County Historical Site
The Ebenezer Methodist Church has been designated as a Montgomery County Historical Site at an upcoming event.
NORRISTOWN, PA -- The Ebenezer Methodist Church in Norristown has been designated as a Montgomery County Historical Site.
A historical marker was added to the church during the February 28 ceremony.
The church celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2015. May, 2016 will mark its 176th birthday.

It played an important role in the underground railroad, helping runaway slaves travel northwards to safer territories in the 19th century.
The church is located at 234 E. Spruce Street in the borough.
