Norristown Habitat for Humanity Launches 'Build Like A Girl' Campaign
"Get your hands dirty and show just what women can accomplish...right here in the heart of Norristown."
NORRISTOWN, PA - Women from all walks of life will work together to help make the dream of homeownership possible for families right in our backyard.
That’s the goal of Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County’s Women Build Week 2016, the group announced in a press release Monday.
Businesswomen, women’s groups, retirees, college students, moms and more are invited to raise funds and devote at least one day to building a safe, affordable, home for a deserving family. The build will take place from January 27 – January 30, 2016 from 8 am to 3 pm.

“Rosie the Riveter is the national symbol of Women Build,” Executive Director Marianne Lynch said in a statement. “She inspires strength and hope and represents all that females can accomplish. We invite women of all ages to get their hands dirty and work side by side with Habitat clients. This is a day of women inspiring other women, and no power tool experience is necessary.”
Women Build workers will rehab row homes at 130 Wayne Ave and 52 W. Basin Street in Norristown, PA. To participate, volunteers make a gift of $250 to support the $10,000 needed to restore these homes to make them ready for their new homeowners this summer. Since 2004, 300 women have worked on 10 homes in Montgomery County through Women Build.
