Norristown High Speed Line Stations To Shut Down, Delays Expected

Shuttle bus service will commence along certain stops, SEPTA said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Construction will begin this weekend on the Norristown High Speed Line and some commuters will be taken to their stops by shuttle, SEPTA announced.

The closure is in place from Bridgeport Station to Norristown Transportation Center along what is known as SEPTA's "M" line.

The shuttle bus replacement service will be in place from Sunday, March 29 through Saturday, May 9.

"Expect increased travel times for bus/train connections at these stations," SEPTA said.

This work is the first stage of the $55 million Viaduct Steel Bridge Rehabilitation project. Further closures and construction are also planned Aug. 1 through Dec. 19, and Jan. 18, 2027 through Feb. 6, 2027.

In addition to replacing the entire viaduct, crews will also replace the concrete deck and repair the concrete sidewalk at Norristown Transit Center.
