Norristown Lawyer Convicted Of Raping Unconscious Woman

BREAKING: A Norristown lawyer has been convicted of raping a 22-year-old woman while she was unconscious, and faces 20 years in prison.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- A Norristown lawyer was convicted Wednesday of raping a 22-year-old woman while she was unconscious, according to court documents. The victim was one of his clients.

Cirillo, 57, of Narberth, claimed that their sexual interaction was consensual, while the victim said that Cirillo drugged her. The incident occurred in August of 2015 in the woman's West Norriton home.

He was convicted of both rape and sexual assault, court documents show.
Cirillo pleaded guilty to rape in 2016 but withdrew his plea on the day of his sentencing. Now that he has been convicted of both rape and sexual assault, he could face even more time than the 10 to 20 years in prison he would have faced for just the rape charge.

Cirillo had previously been charged with felony identity theft and related counts, charges which were dropped last year. He had allegedly posed as the victim's attorney, Jason Donoghue, in an attempt to gain access to personal information, according to a police affidavit.
