Norristown Man Abused Child Over 18 Months, Distributed Videos Of Abuse: U.S. Attorney's Office

After sexually abusing a child for months, a pair of men distributed videos of the abuse. They also took explicit photos of an infant girl.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- A Malvern man and a Norristown man are facing multiple charges related to child sex abuse and child pornography after allegedly abusing a child over the course of 18 months, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Lawrence Jamieson, 57, of Malvern, and John Brown, 25, of Norristown, were charged March 2 with enticing a minor to engage in illicit sexual conduct, manufacturing child pornography, transferring obscene materials to a minor, distribution of child pornography, receipt of child pornography, and possession of a collection of images and videos of children being sexually abused and in sexually explicit positions on various dates in 2015 and 2016, the attorney's office announced.

Jamieson and Brown allegedly abused a minor child on multiple occasions over more than 18 months, the attorney's office said. They are also accused of photographing, videotaping, and distributing images and videos of the abuse, according to the attorney's office.

Jamieson and Brown are also accused of maintaining collections of sexually explicit images of children taken from the Internet, according to the attorney's office.

Brown has also been charged with taking sexually explicit photos of a second victim, an infant girl, the attorney's office said.

If convicted, Jamieson and Brown face maximum sentences of life imprisonment, which includes a 15-year mandatory minimum term of incarceration, and five years up to a lifetime of supervised release, the attorney's office said. Jamieson himself faces a $5.75 million fine and a mandatory special assessment of $110,100, and Brown faces a $4.75 million fine and a mandatory special assessment of $90,100, according to the attorney's office.

The case was investigated by the Willistown Police Department, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella.
