Norristown Man Beat Victim To Death With Hammer: DA

Breaking: A Norristown man has been arrested for beating another man to death with a hammer on Saturday, the DA said.

NORRISTOWN, PA — A Norristown man has been arrested for beating another man to death with a hammer on Saturday, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.

The incident occurred on Sept. 23 at around 8:13 p.m., authorities said.

Police found Leroy McCray, 42, dead inside the Riverside Apartments.

An investigation revealed that McCray had been involved in a verbal altercation with Michael Bell, 34, and that the argument ended with Bell hitting McCray over the head several times with a carpentry hammer.

Bell was arrested over the weekend. He was denied bail and sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 6.
