Norristown Nonprofits Receive Final Grants From Genuardi's Employees Foundation

The group recently awarded nearly $70,000 in grants to non-profit organizations throughout the area.

Genuardi’s recently announced that the Genuardi’s Employees Foundation awarded $69,260 in grants to 26 non-profit organizations, several of which are located in Norristown.

Local organizations receiving funds from the group include the  ($5,000),  ($2,500), the  ($2,000) and the  ($5,000).

“Since 2008 the Genuardi’s Employees Foundation has donated $12,000 in support of the Computer Lab," said Andie Philo, Electronic Resources Librarian for Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, in a release posted on The Times Herald's website. "These funds have been vital in helping us to add, maintain, and upgrade critical technology to keep pace with the ever-increasing demands of the community for access to electronic resources as well as instruction in their use. To say that the Library’s Computer Lab is grateful to Genuardi’s for their support is an understatement. They have literally kept us afloat in these tough economic times.”

The Genuardi's Employees Foundation was started in 2004 and is funded entirely through payroll contributions from Genuardi's employees. According to the release, this is the final disbursement from the Genuardi’s Employees Foundation due to the .
