A movie night, an art sale, and a beef and beer benefit are just a few of the great options we have for you this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Well Norristown Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got your best bets for what to do with your weekend. Check out our picks for the activities to hit and new bars, restaurants and shops to explore.

Why go: The West End Association will screen the documentary Food, Inc., followed by a panel discussion with people in various fields related to the food industry.

Where/When: Greater Norristown PAL, 340 Harding Blvd., Norristown; April 2, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why go: Prom season can cost you a fortune, from the dress to the shoes, to the accessories. PAL has all of it–free!

Price: Free

 

Where/When: Greater Norristown Art League, 800 W. Germantown Pike, East Norriton; April 2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and April 3, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why go: If you’ve always wanted to surround yourself with beautiful works of art, but don’t have a Picasso budget, come to the Affordable Art Sale, where you can buy framed and matted works, originals, prints and notecards. Nothing over $150.

Price: Free admission

 

Where/When: , 765 N. Lewis Road, Limerick; April 3, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Why go: This fundraiser for Kristi Morrisroe Hertzog and her family will feature a silent auction, raffles, Team Kristi T-shirts, and, of course, beef and beer. Hertzog, a NASD teacher, suffered serious complications after giving birth prematurely to twins Feb. 16. She has been hospitalized since then.

Price: $40

 

Where/When: ACPPA Community Art Center, 506 Haws Ave., Norristown; Classes begin April 12, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Why go: This three-week course introduces collage as a medium for storytelling. The final product will be a self-portrait in images and varied materials and mediums. The course is for ages 13 and up.

Price: $10 for ACPPA members, $15 for nonmembers
