Norristown Provides Residents With Smoke Detectors For MLK Day
The Norristown Fire Department will provide residents with free smoke detectors on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- The Norristown Fire Department will provide residents with free smoke detectors on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Fire department staff, along with the American Red Cross, will hold a smoke detector "blitz" starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.
The blitz will focus on the 800 through 1200 blocks of Green Street. More than 150 homes will benefit from the event, officials said.

“Today we answer Dr. King’s call to service by stepping up to participate in this year’s Day of Service” said Fire Chief Tom O’Donnell. “It is a terrific way to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”
