Norristown Residents Busted Growing Mushrooms

The suspects allegedly had a mushroom cultivation operation going on inside their apartment.

NORRISTOWN, PA -- Norristown residents were recently busted for growing mushrooms inside their apartment, according to a police.

Police began their investigation when they were alerted to strange materials in a Sandy Street apartment on January 23.

Firefighters had originally found the materials when called to the scene after leaking water was reported in the building.

In the apartment, police said they found several receptacles with soil and mushrooms growing inside them. There were also ultraviolet lights and humidifiers in the apartment.

Investigators are now in the process of securing a search warrant.
