Norristown Schools To Compete In 'Battle Bots'

ROYERSFORD, PA – Middle and high school students will descend upon the Spring-Ford area on February 20, 2016 for the Spring-Ford Robotics Competition, Spring-Ford School District said in a press release.

More than 40 teams will come together for what organizers are calling a “non-stop, action-packed” day of competition where they will battle against each other with robots created from VEX EDR.

Participants will square off in the game VEX Robotics Competition. Teams include:

· Radnor High School, Radnor, Pennsylvania, United States

· Norristown Area School District, Norristown, Pennsylvania, United States (five teams)

· Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, Lansdale, Pennsylvania, United States (three teams)

· Delaware County Christian School, Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, United States (six teams)

· Tech Storm 4-H club, York, Pennsylvania, United States

· Spring-Ford Area High School, Royersford, Pennsylvania, United States (four teams)

· Parkland High School, Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States (three teams)

· Quakertown Christian School, Quakertown, Pennsylvania, United States

· West Shore Christian Academy, Shiremanstown, Pennsylvania, United States (three teams)

· MaST Community Charter School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States (two teams)

· Bermudian Springs High School, York Springs, Pennsylvania, United States (two teams)

· Germantown Academy, Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, United States

· New Foundations Charter School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States (five teams)

· Sun Valley High School, Aston, Pennsylvania, United States

· Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School, Berwyn, Pennsylvania, United States (two teams)

· Church Farm School. Exton, Pennsylvania, United States

The Spring-Ford VEX Robotics Competition is one in a series of tournaments supported by the REC Foundation and various national, regional and local sponsors.

The competition season culminates each spring, with the top performing teams from local and state VEX Robotics Competitions competing against each other at VEX Worlds.

At VEX Worlds, these exemplary teams will have the opportunity to challenge their top-ranked peers from over 30 countries around the world, including Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The event will take place on February 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Spring-Ford 9th Grade Center on 400 South Lewis Road in Royersford.
