Norristown Snow Updates: Where Plow Is Expected Next, Traffic Lights Out
Norristown schools are shut down Monday as the area tries to dig itself out. What residents should know:
NORRISTOWN, PA — A severe snowstorm dropped up to 10 inches of snow around the Norristown area on Sunday, blocking up roadways and making travel treacherous for local residents.
Snow plows and emergency crews worked throughout the day on Sunday and remain on the roads on Monday trying to get the municipality and surrounding area back up and running.

As of 9 a.m., plows were targeting the following roads in Norristown, according to officials:
- Airy - Arch to Swede
- Main - Barbados to Arch
- DeKalb - Schuylkill to Elm
- W. Marshall - Corson to Haws
- Swede - Elm to Lafayette

Residents should make sure their vehicles are not on snow emergency routes. Free parking remains available in the county's Cherry Street garage.
Meanwhile, a traffic light is also out at the intersection of Powell Street and Fornance Street. A four way stop sign is in place at that intersection.
Norristown Area School District is closed on Monday for a traditional snow day, along with most nearby districts. A determination on Tuesday has not yet been made.
