NORRISTOWN, PA -- The Norristown Police Department is warning residents of the possibility of daytime burglaries of their homes, often while they are left unoccupied.

There are definitive steps you can take to protect your home.

Lock doors and windows when leaving home or going to bed.

Keep sheds/garages locked and secured even when home.

Check locks on all doors and windows to ensure they are in proper working condition and remove/secure any window A/C units.

If away for extended periods, have neighbors watch house, collect mail, etc., and notify police of the vacancy.

If persons or vehicles are noticed in neighborhoods that do not belong or are being seen at odd times of the day or night, call police.
