Norristown's Gangster Vegan, Nonprofits Providing Free Groceries
Norristown's Gangster Vegan Organics, Norristown Men of Excellence, and others are banding together during the coronavirus outbreak.
NORRISTOWN, PA — In times of crisis, the bonds that hold the Norristown community together are more apparent than ever.
Gangster Vegan Organics is spearheading a project to provide free meals and groceries to those in need in the Norristown area. They planned to give out 250 bags of groceries this week.

"We need your love and support," owner Vincent DePaul said. "Every bit helps.Lets be selfless in a time of need. I know its hard, but some aren’t as privileged."

The call has been heard by others in the community.
On Wednesday morning, Norristown Men of Excellence said they would donate $500 to the initiative. They said they are looking for groups or individuals to match their contribution.

The coronavirus outbreak has caused many local businesses to close, and left many residents without a paycheck. Since schools are closed, families that rely on free breakfasts and lunches for children can still pick them up at schools on two separate dates. But the strain on the community is plain.
