Not Your Average Joe's Restaurant To Open Second PA Location in Ardmore

Not Your Average Joe's Opens Ardmore Location

Not Your Average Joe’s, the New England-based restaurant known for its globally inspired, chef-driven menu at affordable prices, will open its second Pennsylvania location on Monday, February 23, 2015. The restaurant will open at 49 Saint James Place in Ardmore, PA 19003 in the Suburban Square Shopping Center on Coulter Ave.

Not Your Average Joe’s was founded in 1994 by CEO Steve Silverstein, who was heading his family’s successful menswear business at the time, and longed to find a great, reasonably priced restaurant in the suburbs, where people know your name and where you feel special without dressing up. When he couldn’t find it, he opted to build it, despite a lack of experience in the restaurant business. The first location opened in Dartmouth, MA, and the brand has since grown to include 21 locations along the East Coast including Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania.

“We think Not Your Average Joe’s and Ardmore, particularly Suburban Square, make a great match,” Silverstein said. “Proximity to Philadelphia — one of the greatest food towns in America — means area residents are very discerning about their dining options. We’re confident that they’ll really appreciate our innovative, chef-driven menu and bend-over-backwards service at affordable prices.”

An evolution of the restaurant’s core menu, Ardmore’s menu items will range from comfort fare such as the Mustard Crusted Chicken, NY Strip Steak with Horseradish Butter and Uncle Joe’s Bolognese with Fresh Pappardelle to locally-crafted dishes such as Di Bruno Brothers Burrata Bruschetta. Because each dish is made to order, guests are encouraged to request customization to meet dietary restrictions or taste preferences.

In addition to an extensive food menu, Not Your Average Joe’s offers an award-winning wine list and a broad spectrum of regional, national and imported beers. With 40 bottles of wine, 21 of which are served by the glass, and 20 beers on tap, guests can find the perfect pairing to any meal.

The Ardmore location will convert the former 5,000 square foot Suburban Square cinema built in the 1930s into an exciting two-story restaurant space accommodating up to 200 diners. The restaurant will also boast three bar areas and a mezzanine level with a roof deck for outside dining. The interior will be elegantly casual with an industrial-chic aesthetic, including many reclaimed materials and artisan-made furnishings.

“The addition of Not Your Average Joe’s to Suburban Square will be a great new dining amenity for our customers,” said Suburban Square General Manager, Mark Curran. “Our shoppers range from students to professionals to families with small children. With wide menu options, great wine and beer selections and affordable pricing, Not Your Average Joe’s is a fantastic dining option for all of our customers.”

To commemorate the Ardmore opening, Not Your Average Joe’s will be donating all proceeds raised during the Grand Opening celebrations to the Cathy Miller Cancer Fund (CMCF), a local non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for cancer research. Additionally, Not Your Average Joe’s Ardmore selected CMCF as its “Not Your Average Cause” for the months of February and March, where each Tuesday the restaurant will donate 15% of purchases to CMCF. For the restaurant’s Glen Mills grand opening in June 2014, the team raised more than $10,000 for community partner, the West Chester Food Cupboard.

Not Your Average Joe’s is expected to employ over 100 area residents. Interested candidates should contact Matt Musmanno at mmusmanno@nyajoes.com. More information on Not Your Average Joe’s is available at www.notyouraveragejoes.com.
