October Events for Children at the Norristown Public Library

ALL CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. We suggest you arrive early to guarantee admission. Doors will close and a sign will be posted on the door to the Children’s Learning Center when maximum capacity for each program has been reached. Programs begin on time.

Friday, October 2

Creepy Cooking Class – 3:00 – Learn how to make some ghoulish grub and sinister snacks in time for Halloween. Grades K-6. Class size is limited.

Saturday, October 10

Build! –10:30 am-12:00 pm -- Create and build using a variety of great materials for the budding engineer: LEGO, K’Nex, Straws & Connectors, and more! For children entering grades K-6—children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Drop in.

Mondays through December 14

KidsMake – 4:30-- For kids who like to try new things. Crafts, science projects, building projects, electronics, and more! For kids entering grades 3-6. A parent-signed release form is required to attend. Class size is limited.

Tuesdays, October 6 through 27

Munchkin Math – 10:30 am – Preschoolers learn simple math concepts through stories, songs, and hands-on activities. For children ages 3-1/2 to 5. Class size is limited. Drop in.

Tuesdays, through December 15

KidsMake Studio – 4:30 – Open workshop time for kids who attend our regular KidsMake sessions. We supply the materials, the kids think up the projects! A parent-signed release form is required to attend. Class size is limited.

Tuesdays and Thursdays through June 9

Homework Helpers – 4:00-6:00 pm – Bilingual volunteers are available to help students with homework. For kids in grades K-6.

Tuesdays through December 15

Theater Workshop – 6:30 pm – Join Ms. Tiffany for an exciting introduction to acting and theater. For kids in grades 3-6.

Wednesdays through December 16

Baby Lap Rap –10:30am - Simple stories, songs, rhymes and fingerplays for your baby and you! Ages 0-24 months with a caregiver. Drop in.

Thursdays through December 17

Toddler Tickle Tales – 10:30am - Stories, songs, fingerplays and simple games for the active toddler and early preschool child, followed by playgroup time with toys. Ages 2-4 with a caregiver. Drop in.

Thursdays through December 19

Evening Stories – 7:00 pm – Join Ms. Susan for stories, songs, and movement fun for the whole family. Ages 0-6. Drop in.

Saturday, October 17

Roll Over and Read! – 11:00-1:00 pm – Kids can read to specially trained therapy dogs. Bring your own book or read one of ours! For children in grades K-6. Drop in.

Saturday, October 17

Sew Awesome! – 2:00 – Learn hand and machine sewing and make fun fabric creations. If you’ve never sewn before or need a refresher, come for our special beginner’s class at 1:30. For kids in grades 3-6. A parent-signed release form is required to attend.
