PA Trooper Wins $1.4M After Being Hit By Drunk Driver On 422: Report
The state trooper was hit on Route 422 in Upper Merion by a drunk driver in 2008.

UPPER MERION, PA -- A Pennsylvania State trooper hit by a drunk driver on Route 422 has been awarded $1.44 million, according to a report.
Sgt. Michael J. Chambers was suing James Mu Lin, of Philadelphia, who was behind the wheel of a 2007 Toyota Camry that struck his car on May 31, 2008, the report states.
The incident occurred at 3:20 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of 422 in Upper Merion.

Chambers was stopped in the eastbound lanes with his emergency lights on, assisting highway construction, when his vehicle was hit, according to the Pottstown Mercury.
He suffered severe injuries including herniated discs, a concussion, and headaches.

The suit was also filed against the construction company working the scene, Glasgow Inc. of Glenside, for removing traffic cones from the road in a way that that did not clearly indicate to approaching drivers that an oncoming lane was closed.
70 percent of the $1.4 million must be paid by Lin, and 30 percent by Glasgow, the report states.
Lin was sentenced to six months in jail. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.16 percent.
