Pair Stole $52K In Merchandise From 7 Pennsylvania Walmarts: DA

Breaking: Two men are in custody after multiple armed robberies at seven Walmarts across the region netted them $52,000 in merchandise.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Two men are in custody after multiple armed robberies and thefts at seven Walmarts across the region netted them more than $52,000 in merchandise, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced.

Pottstown's Maurkeece Foreman, 26, and Philadelphia's Jon Beverly, 28, both face 40 felony counts of robbery and numerous other charges for ten crimes at Walmarts in Montgomery, Bucks, Carbon, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, and Luzerne counties, authorities said. Three of the incidents occurred in Montgomery County.

Items stolen in the robberies varied, but consisted primarily of expensive electronics like iPhones, Wi-Fi systems, speakers, surveillance systems, and related items.

Foreman was arrested by Pottstown police after a Jan. 7 armed robbery at the Walmart on Shoemaker Road in Pottstown. During that incident, Foreman pointed a gun at an employee's head and demanded 20 iPhones from a display case be turned over to him, police said. The total value of the items stolen was $6,833.

Beverly was arrested in Philadelphia on Jan. 25.

The incidents trace back to July of last year:

  • July 23: Lehighton Walmart, Carbon County, $3,872 value
  • Aug. 6: East Lampeter, Lancaster County, $4,096 value
  • Dec. 12: Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County,$7,059 value
  • Dec. 18: King of Prussia, Montgomery County, $397 value
  • Dec. 18: West Norriton, Montgomery Couty, $977 value
  • Dec. 23: Carlisle, Cumberland County, $7,784 value
  • Dec. 27: Mifflin Township, Dauphin County, $7,653 value
  • Dec. 27: East Lampeter, Lancaster County: $7,653 value
  • Jan. 4: Hatfield, Bucks County: $13,094 value
  • Jan. 7: Pottstown, Montgomery County, $6,833 value

Bail for Beverly and Foreman was set at $250,000 each. Both failed to post bail and were sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing is set for March 7.
