As the Powell Street building undergoes a multimillion‑dollar overhaul, the temporary Markley Street location remains busy, and officials plan to integrate CareerLink, a professional kitchen, and tech tools to boost local workforce skills.
   

• South Carolina Aquarium honored with AZA Accreditation Quarter Century Award (holycitysinner.com) — Norristown's own Elmwood Park Zoo has been honored with a prestigious AZA Accreditation Quarter Century Award, recognizing 25 years of meeting top standards in animal care and conservation. The award puts the zoo alongside just a dozen other institutions nationwide, underscoring that your local zoo meets rigorous, independently reviewed benchmarks for safety, welfare, and educational impact.
   

• Santa Arrived: Grants for Lower Pottsgrove, Pottstown, 16 Others (travelswiththepost.com) — Norristown is getting a big infrastructure boost, with nearly $1 million to rehabilitate parts of the borough's sewer system and additional funding for box trucks to expand the Norristown Library's outreach and delivery services. These awards are part of more than $4.5 million in Montgomery County grants, backing projects from inclusive playgrounds to fire engines in nearby towns.
