Altercation that ended in shooting lands Norristown man in prison (timesherald.com) — A Norristown man has been sentenced to 6½ to 13 years in state prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and illegally possessing a firearm in a 2021 shooting on Green Street. Prosecutors say video evidence and witness accounts showed he shot another man in the head during a late-night argument; the victim survived, and officials emphasize the sentence as a step toward community safety.

Boy, 13, finds Ruger by trash can, kills his friend: Cops (lawandcrime.com) — A 16-year-old was fatally shot inside a home on Arch Street in Norristown, and a 13-year-old friend is now charged in adult court with third-degree murder and related offenses. Investigators say the younger teen found a stolen Ruger handgun near a trash can and was playing with it when it fired, killing the victim. The case may later be moved to juvenile court.
