Police Briefs

The following information was supplied by the Norristown Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Public Drunkenness

  • According to reports from the , Jermayne Ball, of the 600 block of East Marshall Street, was charged with public drunkenness on Saturday, Oct. 1. According to the police report, Ball was observed walking in the 500 block of East Marshall Street with an open container of alcohol. He then reportedly threw the bottle on the ground in a parking lot. Police stopped to speak with him and state they immediately detected a very strong odor of alcohol on Ball. They said he had slurred speech and a staggered gait. Police state Ball was a danger to himself and others. He was taken into custody, transported to the police station and held until sober.
  • Michael McKnight, of the 100 block of Colonial Place in King of Prussia, was charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct Friday, Sept. 30. McKnight was reportedly stopped on the 200 block of East Elm Street during a robbery investigation. Police state McKnight could barely stand on his own and reportedly had great difficulty communicating. Police state McKnight demonstrated several signs of intoxication. McKnight was then taken into custody and held until sober. In addition, a check reportedly revealed a small yellow bag of marijuana in McKnight’s right shoe.
  • Blair L. Randolph, of the 1000 block of Swede Street, was charged with public drunkenness and loitering/prowling Friday, Sept. 30. Police reportedly came into contact with Randolph while investigating a robbery. According to the report, police said Randolph was walking with two other males. When the three reportedly saw the police car they split up and began walking in different directions. When the officer attempted to stop Randolph, he allegedly took off running; When he was apprehended, police state Randolph smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and vomited on the police car.
  • Quintin L. Wright, of the 1400 block of Powell Street, was charged with public drunkenness Friday, Sept. 30. Wright was stopped on the 800 block of Cherry Street because he reportedly matched a general description of one of the suspects from a robbery. Police state Wright had a strong odor of alcohol emanating from his body, glassy, bloodshot eyes and spoke with a slurred voice. According to the report, the degree to which Wright was reportedly intoxicated made him a danger to himself. He was arrested and held until sober.
  • Salvos Enriques, of the 600 block of Kohn Street, was charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct Sunday, Oct. 2, after police responded to the 1000 block of West Main Street for a report of an unwanted subject. Upon arrival, police were directed to the back alleyway where Enriques was. Enriques reportedly fled; however, police were able to locate him and state they observed him to be demonstrating several symptoms of intoxication. Police state the commotion caused shock and alarm as other residents both exited their homes and others looked out their windows. Due to Enriques’s reported level of intoxication and disturbance he was arrested and held until sober.
  • Daniel J. Connelly, who has no known residence, was charged with public drunkenness Sunday, Oct. 2. Police reportedly found Connelly sitting in the middle of the street at DeKalb and Basin streets. Police state he had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his body, slurred speech and unable to stand on his own. Authorities deemed him as a danger to himself and others. Connelly was arrested and held until sober.

Disorderly Conduct

  • Leslie Pullen, Angela Butler, both of the 4800 block of Kingsessing Avenue in Philadelphia, and Christopher Nemphos, of the 100 block of Pinecrest Lane in King of Prussia, were charged with disorderly conduct and loafing Friday, Sept. 30. While on patrol, police reportedly observed the three individuals in the area of the A+ store at 630 West Main Street loitering/loafing on the sidewalk for 30 minutes. There are no loitering signs posted on the building. When asked what they were doing there, Nemphos reportedly said, “We are just hanging out.” Police state there was no legitimate reason for the individuals to be there since they do not live in the area. The officer informed them they would receive citations in the mail and sent them on their way.
  • Juanana Highsmith and Tilenna Scruggs, both of the 1100 block of Green Street, were charged with disorderly conduct Friday, Sept. 30, after police responded to a report of a fight in progress. When police arrived on the scene, they reportedly observed numerous females in the middle of the street screaming profanity and causing a large crowd in the Greet Street area. The females were allegedly told repeatedly to stop using profanity and go into their houses but refused. Highsmith and Scruggs were identified as participants in the fight and charged with disorderly conduct.

Open Container

  • William Green, of the 500 block of Church Street, was charged with an open container Friday, Sept. 30. Police reportedly observed Green seated on the steps of a residence on the 400 block of West Marshall Street with an open container of beer. Police state Green does not live there and was cited and released.
  • John Chesson, of the 400 block of Arch Street, was charged with an open container Friday, Sept. 30. He was reportedly observed on the 400 block of West Marshall Street with an open can of beer. He was cited and then released.
  • Reginald Watson, of the 500 block of Beech Street in Pottstown, was charged with an open container Friday, Sept. 30. Police reportedly observed Watson sitting on the steps of a residence on the 600 block of DeKalb Street drinking from an open container of beer. He was cited and then released.

Robbery

  • Jarron Bridges, of the 1100 block of Swede Street, was arrested for robbery, theft by unlawful taking, harassment and criminal conspiracy Saturday, Oct. 1. According to the report, police responded to the 1100 block of Swede Street for a robbery-in-progress call. The victim told police that she was walking down Basin Street toward Swede Street when three males pushed her to the ground and took her purse. Police then went to the residence where the accused lives and brought Bridges out of the house. Bridges was then reportedly positively identified as being the perpetrator. A search of the house allowed the recovery of several items of interest to the police. The items were seized and entered into evidence. Bridges was taken to the station and processed for arraignment.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

  • William Guess and Jeana Axelroth, both of the 00 block of Cromwell Drive in Blue Bell, were charged with possession of a controlled substance and other charges Sept. 27. According to police, during a traffic stop on Sandy Hill and Grandview roads, police came into contact with Guess, who was driving the vehicle, and Axelroth, who was a passenger. Police state that Guess allegedly ran a stop sign and when pulled over appeared very nervous. Guess told police he did not have a driver’s license and reportedly told police they could search the car when asked if there was anything inside the vehicle police should be concerned about. The reporting officer said he told Guess at least twice that he could stop the search at any time. During a search of the vehicle, police reportedly found a rock that was suspected to be crack and later field-tested positive as crack. The substance was placed into evidence. Guess was charged with two drug charges, a traffic violation for running a stop sign and driving while suspended. Axelroth reportedly requested to be transported to the police station to be cited and released. Authorities informed her that she had to be patted down before entering a police vehicle, to which she allegedly replied that she had pills in her front pocket. Axelroth then reportedly handed over eight blue pills inside a clear plastic bag to police and said they were oxycodone. The pills were taken into custody and Axelroth was processed at the station for possession of a controlled substance and disorderly conduct.

Burglary

  • A victim reported to police that on Sept. 20 and Sept. 28 someone broke into her residence on the 600 block of West Airy Street. The victim stated two televisions, an electric sawzall, laptop computer, pellet gun, electrical cord and weed whacker were stolen after the perpetrator pried open a rear door to the residence. The victim estimates the damage to be $950. The victim was issued a victim’s rights pamphlet and compensation packet.
  • Police responded to a report of a burglary on the 600 block of Chain Street Sunday, Oct. 2. The victim states while away, someone cut a window screen and pushed open a locked window. The burglar took $211 in cash, a laptop computer and an iPad. Police observed the damaged window and gave the victim an application for the compensation program and victim’s rights pamphlet.
  • A homeowner of a residence on the 500 block of Stanbridge Street reported to police Saturday, Oct. 1, that an unknown person broke into the vacant home and cut the copper pipe out of the basement. The exact date and time of the burglary are unknown.

Breaking and Entering

  • A victim reported to police that an unknown person attempted to break into a residence on the 1200 block of West Airy Street some time during the Sept. 30-Oct. 1 overnight by forcing the locks; however, the actors were unable to gain entry. 

Robbery

  • Police responded to the 700 block of Swede Street for a report of a robbery of a pizza delivery driver Sept. 28. The victim told police he finished delivering a pizza to the 200 block of East Oak Street and when he returned to his car he was robbed. The victim states he felt something hard pressed into the back of his head and was then told “give me all your money.” The robber then reportedly fled the scene and the victim went to Swede Street where he filed the report. The victim received a compensation and victim booklet.

Theft

  • Police responded to the Rite Aide pharmacy on the 700 block of East Johnson Highway Sept. 27 for a report of theft by employee. According to the report, police met with a store manager and loss prevention manager. The managers allege Dolly McFadzean, of the 500 block of Janeway Drive, conducted fraudulent refunds on numerous occasions beginning in June until present for a reported value of $605.92, which she allegedly kept. The accused reportedly signed a confession presented by store management to police. Management also showed video to police of the alleged theft. McFadzean was charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.
  • Xavier James, of the 700 block of Shaw Avenue in Lansdale, was charged with theft by deception and writing a bad check Sept. 28. According to the report, Got Junk provided services to James on Aug. 10, 2009, at two separate Philadelphia locations for a total charge of $1,040, which was reportedly paid for with a check by James. The check was returned due to the account being closed and Got Junk was charged $25 for a returned check fee. Attempts to recover the money were allegedly unsuccessful.
  • A victim reported to police that a house guest reportedly stole a sawzall, drill, turbo fan and steaks worth a combined total of $700 from the 700 block of Moore Street Sept. 27.
  • A report of a theft from a motor vehicle was made Saturday, Oct. 1. The victim states that her vehicle was parked on the 1400 block of Harding Boulevard when an unknown person stole a Garmin GPS valued at $250 from inside the vehicle.
  • A victim reported to police that someone broke into her vehicle parked on the 1600 block of Locust Street and stole $50 from the ashtray and a GPS from the inside the vehicle Saturday, Oct. 1. The total value of the missing items is $200.

Fraud

  • A victim came to the police department to report check fraud Sept. 28. The victim, who owns a check cashing business, said he cashed a check for $41,957, which was returned because of insufficient funds. The victim has not been able to contact the check writer.
  • Police reported that a victim was contacted via the telephone by a marketing group and charged $13,000 to get 13,000 “business leads” for some sort of Internet business. The victim stated that she does not own a computer and attempted to have the marketing company refund the money; however, the company reportedly refused. Police provided the victim with a compensation packet.

Police Information

  • Police responded to the 100 block of Ann Street for a report of a behavioral emergency where as a man was reportedly high on PCP. When police arrived on the scene Sept. 29, they reportedly saw a man face down in the living room of the above residence. While medics were helping the individual, the individual reportedly started to punch one of the medics and started to come towards a police officer in a manner the officer deemed threatening. The officer then dispatched the Taser and the individual fell backwards on a glass table, shattered it and sustained cuts on his back. The individual was then restrained and taken to the hospital for treatment. The medic did not wish to press charges and there is no record at this time of any charges being filed.

Assault

  • A victim reported to police that two males attacked her on DeKalb and Basin streets Saturday, Oct. 1. According to the report, the alleged assailants hit and kicked the victim multiple times. The victim did not want medical treatment; however, she does want to press charges.
  • A confidential source told police that an unknown person assaulted a victim sometime Thursday, Sept. 29, evening. The actor allegedly assaulted the victim with a brick in retaliation for a marijuana robbery that occurred previously. The victim is now thought to be carrying a handgun because retaliation is expected.

Harassment

  • A victim filed a report with police that an ex-boyfriend has been following her around since August and threatens her with physical violence if she doesn’t leave town. The last incident occurred on Sept. 25 when the accused repeatedly called for the victim to come outside on the 00 block of Jacoby Street. The victim received a victim’s rights form.
  • Police responded to a report of harassment on the 300 block of Walnut Street Sept. 28. The victim stated that a neighbor curded her out; however, witnesses state there was no argument and that the two individuals were talking. The victim states the verbal assaults are an ongoing issue. She was issued a victim’s rights pamphlet.
  • A victim reported to police that a neighbor on the 1000 block of Swede Street is continually harassing her. The victim has documented numerous incidents of harassment during the past 15 years and states the accused intentionally backed into her vehicle. A victim’s rights form was mailed.
  • A victim filed a report with police that while she was shopping at a store on the 800 block of DeKalb Street Sunday, Oct. 2, an acquaintance told her she was going to beat her up when she left the store. The victim states the alleged harasser has been threatening her for a while but this is the first time she is filing a report. She is concerned she is going to be forced into a situation where she is going to have to fight in the future. The victim received a victim’s rights pamphlet via mail.

Missing Person

  • A missing persons report was filed for Harold James, a resident of the 1000 block of New Hope Street. The individual was last seen at St. Patrick’s Church for a dinner held Sept. 29. The reporting person said he went outside for a cigarette and never returned.

Criminal Mischief

  • A victim reported to police that someone flattened one of her tires while she was parked on the 500 block of Barbadoes Street on Sept. 27 and that another tire on her vehicle was flattened Sept. 28 while parked in front of her residence on the 200 block of North Boone Street in Souderton. The victim received victim’s rights information.
  • A victim states he came out to his car parked on the 500 block of Barbadoes Street and found scratch marks on the left and right side of his white 1999 Mitsubishi Gallant. A friend reportedly told the victim who was responsible for making the scratches. The victim did not wish to press charges but wanted the incident documented.

Vandalism

  • A driver states that he was traveling eastbound on the 100 block of West Marshall Street on Saturday, Oct. 1, when an object struck the rear driver side cab window. The object broke the window and caused damage to the bed rail. The victim states he doesn’t know where the object came from or what it was. He was given a victim’s rights pamphlet and compensation information.

Shots Fired

  • On Saturday, Oct. 1, police responded to the 500 block of Rapp Alley for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival and a search of the area, police reportedly found four spent .45 automatic Winchester casings on the ground on the 500 block of Noble Street. There was no apparent damage in the area or other witnesses. The casings were collected and placed into evidence. While searching the area on Noble Street, police came across a residence that turned a porch into a waste area for several dogs. According to the report, the entire porch was covered with liquid and solid dog waste with a strong odor. When the dogs ran onto the porch, they stepped in the waster, which they then tracked back into the house. Police described the situation to filthy and stated there was no control over the animals. A copy of the police report was forwarded to code enforcement for follow-up.

Found Pistol

  • Police were dispatched to the 600 block of West Marshall Street for a report of suspicious activity Saturday, Oct. 1. Upon arrival, police spoke with the reporting person who states there was a black pistol inside a trashcan located on Marshall and Kohn streets. Police found a black 9 mm handgun on top of the trashcan. The pistol was loaded with six blanks inside the revolver and one blank was fired. The weapon was placed into evidence and a check of the serial number showed nothing reported stolen or registered.

Animal Reports

  • On Sunday, Oct. 2, police found a male pitbull running loose on the 1100 block of West Marshall Street. The dog was transported to the SPCA.

Loud Sound Amplification System

  • Derek Fortier, of the 00 block of Brookview Lane in Pottstown, was charge with loud sound amplification system Friday, Sept. 30. Police state Fortier drove past the parked officer on the 600 block of West Main Street and that the vehicle’s stereo allegedly could be heard well over 25 feet away. Fortier was stopped and cited.

Seizured Registration

  • Police seized the tag from a 1995 white Chrysler Seabring abandoned on the 500 block of Moore Street Sept. 28 due to an expired registration. The tag was returned to PennDot.
  • Police conducted a vehicle stop on DeKalb Street and Schuylkill Avenue Sunday, Oct. 2 in which a 1997 BMW was discovered to be operating on a suspended registration because of insurance cancellation. The tag was seized.
  • While issuing a tow release Friday, Sept. 30, Janway Towing determined that the registration displayed on 2004 Ford truck did not belong to the vehicle but rather belonged to a 2001 Dodge truck. Police requesting the towing company remove the registration and bring it to the police station. The plate was processed and returned to PennDot. 

Warrant

  • Jerry Easley, of the 6000 block of Derece Street in Philadelphia, was arrested for an outstanding warrant Oct. 2 on the 200 block of East Airy Street and served with a protection from abuse order.
  • Krystina N. Galloway, of the 500 block of George Street, was arrested for an active criminal warrant Sept. 30. She was taken to the police department and held for arraignment.
  • Alexandria Weston, of the 500 block of George Street, was arrested for an active criminal warrant Sept. 30. She was taken to the police department and held for arraignment.
  • Reynaldo Pantzo, of the 500 block of Green Street, was stopped for a traffic violation on the 500 block of High Alley Friday, Sept. 30. A check for warrants revealed an active criminal warrant for simple assault. Pantzo was placed under arrest and held for arraignment.
  • Terrell A. Steele-Dubbs, of the 100 block of 3rd Street in Bridgeport, was arrested for an active fine and cost warrant Friday, Sept. 30. He was transported to municipal hall and held for arraignment.
  • Raymond Cook III, of the 1100 block of West Airy Street, was arrested for five outstanding fine and cost warrants Friday, Sept. 30. He was transported to municipal hall and held for arraignment.
  • Robert L. Milburn, of the 300 block of Dartmouth, was arrested Friday, Sept. 30, for an active warrant by the Meadville Police Department. Milburn was transported to the police station and placed into a cell to await arraignment. Meadville police were notified.
  • William English, of the 300 block of East Marshall Street, was arrested for an active bench warrant Sunday, Oct. 2, after police responded to a report of English allegedly drinking from an open container on Green and Airy streets. He was taken into custody, transported to municipal hall and held to await sheriff’s transport.
